Allergy Testing
More than 50 million people in the United States have allergies. Finding out what you are allergic to is an important first step to effective allergy treatment. Today allergy tests are more convenient and accurate than ever before. When combined with a detailed medical history, allergy testing can identify the specific things that trigger your allergic reactions.
Allergy skin testing is performed for inhalant allergens and foods. Dyna Allergy provides skin testing using a painless (no needles) rapid method.Using a multitest applicator, allergy extracts for an appropriate number of allergens are placed on the patient’s arms or back. If the patient is allergic, reactions in the form of hives (redness and swelling) begin immediately. These hives can cause temporary itching which typically resolves in a short period of time.
Results from the skin test are available in 20 minutes. Infants, children and adults can be comfortably and reliably tested.
